Austen Lane DE Murray State #97

Ht: 6'6
Wt: 267

Strengths:
Prototypical build for a 4-3 defensive end or a 3-4 linebacker. Impressive athleticism. Quick off the snap. Dominated his level of competition with his speed rush. A hard worker; put on 50 pounds since arriving at Murray State as a freshman.
Weaknesses:
Hasn't faced top competition. Still fairly raw as a pass rusher; relies on his speed rush and doesn't have many other polished moves. May not have the strength to hold up at the point of attack against the run.
Comments:
Lane is sure to be a hot topic this offseason because he has the size and athleticism that teams covet. If he performs as expected at the combine and his workouts he could sneak up as high as the late 2nd round. More realistically he should receive a late 3rd round grade based on the question mark regarding his level of competition and the fact that he's still fairly raw.
