Alex Carrington DE Arkansas State #98

Ht: 6'5
Wt: 284

Strengths:
Elite size and strength. Excels as a bull rusher. Dominant against the run. Does an excellent job holding his ground at the point of attack. A very smart kid on and off the field. A three-year starter who was dominant against his level of competition.
Weaknesses:
Doesn't have the quickness or agility to be a dominant pass rusher. Relies too heavily on his bull rush. Hasn't faced elite competition. May not be a great fit for every scheme.
Comments:
Carrington has rare strength for a defensive end in an era where its sometimes tough to tell the difference between an end and a linebacker. His size and strength makes him an ideal fit at defensive end in a 3-4 scheme. If I ran a 3-4 defense I would strong consider him in the late 2nd round. For teams running a 4-3 team he has less value, because he isn't an every-down lineman due to his lack of a pass rush. He shouldn't be targeted until the late 3rd or early 4th round for the 4-3 teams.
