Tim Tebow QB Florida #15
Ht:
Wt:
Strengths:
Prototypical size for an NFL quarterback. All the intangibles you look for in a starter. Arm strength and accuracy are adequate to above average. Good athlete. Can make plays with his feet.
Weaknesses:
Very poor mechanics. His elongated release will cause serious problems in the NFL. Tends to lock onto a receiver; rarely goes through multiple reads before tucking it and running. Not a good pocket passer; takes off running as soon as he feels pressure. Takes most of his snaps out of the shotgun. Hasn't played in anything close to an NFL offense.
Comments:
Tebow was perfectly suited for Urban Meyer's offense at Florida, but his skills don't translate well to the NFL. However, he is a smart player and has all the intangibles necessary. Given time to rework his mechanics and learn an NFL offense he could still develop into a quality starting quarterback, but it could take 2-3 years before he is truly ready to lead an NFL offense. If things don't work out at quarterback, he is a good enough athlete to play h-back, specifically for a team interested in running some wildcat packages.
