Will Fuller WR Notre Dame #7

Size/Athleticism: 6’0″, 184 pounds. Lacks ideal bulk and height is average. Pure speed is his best asset. Dangerous after the catch, but not as elusive as you would expect. He doesn’t have the agility to match his straight-line speed, and doesn’t always make guys miss in the open field.

Separation Skills: Ran a full route tree at Notre Dame but most effective on deep routes. Has the straight-line speed to get over the top. Shows some extra moves in the stem of his route to help lose DBs on deeper routes—he’s more than just a straight-line go-route type.

Ball Skills: Extremely inconsistent hands. Suffered focus drops as well as some due to poor technique. Lets the ball into his body far too often. Shows good footwork at the sideline, occasionally even dragging both feet in college to make the catch. Lacks the size and strength to battle for contested catches—needs the separation to come down with the ball.

Blocking: Poor technique but surprisingly consistent effort. Tends to lower his shoulder to deliver a hit rather than actually locking on to sustain a block. Doesn’t offer much help considering his size, but gives an honest effort.

Intangibles: Nothing positive or negative of note.

Durability: No notable injuries, but skinny frame raises some concern for long-term durability.

Overview: Fuller is a pure deep threat and not much else. He has a skill that you can’t teach, and it’s valuable asset every offense wants. He skill set is virtually identical to Ted Ginn Jr.—even down to the shaky hands. Like Ginn, the defense will always be aware of where Fuller is lining up, but he probably doesn’t have the size to hands to ever become a dangerous weapon throughout the route tree.
