Rashard Higgins Scouting Report

Rashard Higgins WR Colorado State #82

Size/Athleticism: 6’2″, 188 pounds. Good height but lacks ideal bulk. Plays more like a speed receiver.

Separation Skills: Very sudden in his routes and can lose even more athletic defensive backs. Shows nuances in his routes that many collegiate receivers lack, such as varying his speed within the stem of his route. Athletic enough to make tough catches, but not physical enough to excel in tight coverage.

Ball Skills: Plucks the ball from the air consistently, and quickly tucks it away. Suffers from some focus drops, but technique is otherwise solid.

Blocking: Lacks the strength to make a difference, Gives an adequate effort but will remain a liability until he adds some bulk.

Intangibles: Stats were padded in 2014 working with Garrett Grayson and dropped off during his senior year.

Durability: No known issues.

Overview: Higgins looks like a prototypical No. 2 receiver. He lacks elite tools in any one area, but he’s consistent across the board. It would be nice to see him add some bulk to improve his ability to battle for contested catches. However, he does show the explosiveness in his route to consistently create the separation he needs. He looks like a solid Day 2 selection who can help immediately.
