Percy
Harvin WR Florida #1 |
| Ht:
5'11 Wt: 197
| |
Strengths: |
Elite speed. A threat to take it
the distance every time he touches the ball. Has some experience lining up in
the backfield as a running back. Decent hands. An experienced return specialist. |
Weaknesses:
|
Vastly undersized.
Not a great route runner; was primarily used in specially designed plays for him
in Florida's gimmick offense. Durability is a major concern. Missed time in all
three seasons at Florida. Missed time with ankle injuries in 2006 and 2008. |

Harvin is a playmaker
on the same level as former Ohio State wide receiver Ted Ginn Jr who was selected
9th overall in 2006. However, Harvin is not nearly as polished a receiver as Ginn
was coming out of college. Both are undersized, but Ohio State's offense prepared
Ginn for the NFL while Florida's offense resembles nothing Harvin will encounter
at the next level. The biggest knock on Harvin, however, is his history of injuries.
He isn't the type of receiver that can be effective when he isn't 100 percent.
One more ankle injury could slow him down enough to make him irrelevant which
is a scary prospect for teams considering spending a first round selection on
a guy like Harvin. |
