Michael
Oher OT Ole Miss #74 |
| Ht:
6'5 Wt: 320
| |
Strengths: |
Ideal size and strength for a left
tackle. Excellent athleticism. Technically sound. Does everything right; reads
and reads to different schemes like a pro. Has the long arms necessary to truly
dominate defenders. Strong legs give him a sturdy base. Showed consistent improvement
throughout his career. A high character guy that his coaches loved at Ole Miss.
|
Weaknesses: |
More efficient in pass protection
at this point in his career. Needs to learn how to better use his lower body strength
to push defenders backwards and create holes when run blocking. |

Oher (pronounced "oar")
is the subject of the book The Blind Side: The Evolution of the Game by
Michael Lewis. He is quiet and reserved, which may cause some teams to shy away
out of fear that he lacks a passion of the game. Physically, there isn't a more
gifted tackle in this draft class and he makes a strong case for being the best
available player overall. |
