Mark Sanchez QB USC #6

Ht: 6'3
Wt: 225

Strengths:
Adequate height and overall size. Excellent accuracy on passes of all distances. Decent arm strength. Stands tall in the pocket. A patient quarterback; doesn't panic as the pocket collapses around him. Decent speed; has the ability to extend plays with his feet.
Weaknesses:
Only a one-year starter. Didn't dominate the way previous USC quarterbacks have despite being surrounded by plenty of talent.
Comments:
Physically, Sanchez looks like the next great quarterback to come out of USC. The potential is certainly there for him to be an elite NFL quarterback. However, he is still fairly raw. Some have said he is a better prospect than Matt Leinart, but personally I do not believe he is even to the point Leinart was at as a junior. The difference simply comes down to experience. By the time Leinart entered the draft he was calling plays at the line of scrimmage for USC - something Sanchez is not ready for. He is a worthy first-round selection, but I would not spend a top ten pick on him.
