Excellent athlete. Very productive throughout his career. Experienced at cornerback and safety. Has experience as a punt returner. Good ball skills. Reads the quarterback well.
Weaknesses:
Undersized. Lacks the bulk and overall strength to be a reliable tackler. Below average speed. Will be limited to safety in the NFL, and even at that position his speed is suspect.
Comments:
Pegues lacks the build of an elite safety but he does have some upside. His athleticism and playmaking ability are above average and could make him a steal in the 4th or 5th round. He's a solid option in the mid-rounds because of his ability to contribute on special teams. He may not develop into an elite safety, but he has the potential to start at the next level.
