Toby Gerhart RB Stanford #7

Ht: 6'1
Wt: 235

Strengths:
Elite size and strength. A powerful downhill runner. Rarely is brought down by just one defender. Has the potential to be an elite short-yardage back at the next level. An elite athlete; also plays on the Stanford baseball team. Top intangibles; a hard worker and extremely intelligent.
Weaknesses:
Lacks top-end speed. May not have the speed and agility to be an every-down running back at the next level. Suffered a torn left PCL in 2007. Limited experience as a receiver.
Comments:
Gerhart may be the best short-yardage running back in this year's class but his lack of speed may limit his ability to start in the NFL. He doesn't have the ability to make guys miss, and it will be tough to hold up as a starting running back in the NFL with his bruising style. That said, if he is paired with a change-of-pace back to take away some carries he could be extremely productive in a reduced role.
