Bryan Bulaga OT Iowa #79

Ht: 6'6
Wt: 312

Strengths:
Prototypical size and strength. Great fundamentals in pass protections. Quick feet allows him to handle even the top speed rushers. Long wingspan allows him to keep defenders from getting into his chest and knocking him back. Does a great job staying low so as to not get knocked back by the bull rush.
Weaknesses:
Missed time with a thyroid condition his senior year. Not nearly as effective as a run blocker; doesn't get a strong initial push off the snap.
Comments:
As a pass protector, Bulaga is about as polished as it comes for a college lineman. He doesn't have elite athleticism, but his fundamentals are all there and he should be able to step in and play immediately at left tackle. His run blocking needs some work, but he has the size and strength necessary to excel in that area and just needs some coaching. His ceiling may not be as high as someone like Anthony Davis or Bruce Campbell, but Bulaga is a much safer pick because I believe he is ready to start and be productive from day one.
