Sammie Stroughter WR Oregon State #19

Ht: 5'10
Wt: 189

Experienced on kick and punt returns. A home run threat with the ball in his hands. Plays much faster than his timed speed. Finds ways to get open. Not afraid to go across the middle.
Missed time in 2007 while suffering from depression. Also missed time with a lacerated kidney in 2007. Lacks ideal size. Timed speed is marginal.
The biggest obstacle Stroughter (straw-ter) has to overcome is explaining his bout with depression. After a very impressive 2006 season he disappeared in 2007, but reemerged as a threat in 2008. Teams will have numerous questions about his bizarre 2007 season before they'll take a risk on him. He could come off the board in the 6th or 7th round, but don't be surprised if he doesn't hear his name called as a result of his questionable mental health.
