Peria Jerry DT Ole Miss #98

Ht: 6'1
Wt: 290

Strengths:
An excellent athlete for an interior lineman. Quick off the snap. Shows the ability to make plays in the backfield (18 tackles for loss as a senior, t-11th in the nation). Plays with a motor that never quits.
Weaknesses:
Height and overall size are only adequate; doesn't have the ability to play nose tackle at the next level. Occasionally gets pushed around too easily by bigger offensive linemen.
Comments:
Brother, John, plays offensive line for Ole Miss. Cousin is former NFL linebacker Dwayne Rudd. Jerry lacks the size to fit into all defensive systems, but he has a good combination of strength and athleticism which will allow him to be an effective three-technique lineman. He may even be athletic enough to play defensive end in a 3-4 system. He should be a mid to late first round selection.
