John Phillips TE Virginia #85

Ht: 6'6
Wt: 251

Strengths:
Ideal height. Good overall size; very well built. Looks the part. A reliable possession receiver. A four-year starter. Adequate blocking ability. A tough, nasty blocker.
Weaknesses:
Speed is marginal; not a threat to stretch the field. Limited athletic ability; may struggle blocking more athletic defensive ends and linebackers in the NFL.
Comments:
Phillips is an ideal backup tight end. He's gets the job done as a blocker and a receiver, but doesn't really excel at either. He has very little upside, but should be able to contribute as the second option at tight end in a tradition offense.
