Jason Smith OT Baylor #72

Ht: 6'5
Wt: 300

Strengths:
An elite athlete for the left tackle position. Excellent speed and quickness. Has the ability to get to the second level and block downfield. Has made huge strides over the course of his college career in terms of learning the fundamentals of the position. Shows the toughness to finish off defenders.
Weaknesses:
Still very raw; only has three years of experience on the offensive line after making the transition from tight end. Doesn't have the lower body strength to consistently hold off the bull rush; can get knocked off balance by stronger defenders.
Comments:
Smith has as much upside as any prospect in this draft class but he is still raw. He may eventually become an elite lineman in the NFL but he won't have the success that recent high picks such as Joe Thomas and Jake Long have experienced as rookies. Given the priority that many teams are placing on left tackles, Smith could come off the board in the top ten.
