Hakeem Nicks WR North Carolina #88

Ht: 6'1
Wt: 210

Strengths:
Ideal size for a receiver. Elite ball skills; hands are as reliable as it gets for a receiver. Excellent leaping ability; a decent threat in the red zone. Runs crisp routes. Has a knack for making difficult catches.
Weaknesses:
Below average speed. Didn't really break out until his junior year; potentially would have benefited from returning to school in 2009.
Comments:
If Nicks posted a 40 time in the 4.3 range we would be talking about a potential top 15 selection - that's how impressive he looks in all other areas of his game. He posted huge numbers at UNC as a junior despite playing with three different (and all very mediocre) quarterbacks. He reminds me of Anquan Boldin - he has decent size and strength, hands like glue, and a perceived lack of speed. He could slip into the second round, at which point I would waste no time snatching him up. If a team is willing to look past the lack of speed he could come off the board in the 20th-32nd pick range.
