Gartrell Johnson RB Colorado State #5

Ht: 5'11
Wt: 222

Strengths:
Very well built. Tough to bring down. Can lower his shoulder and run over defenders. Good hands in the receiving game. Has experience at fullback. A decent blocker. Performed at his best this season in CSU's bowl game and in the East-West Shrine Game.
Weaknesses:
Lacks breakaway speed. Built more like a fullback than a running back and may eventually be asked to switch positions. Effort lacks at times as a blocker.
Comments:
Johnson really came on strong at the end of the year for Colorado State and is peaking at just the right time. He is only a one-year starter, meaning he comes with very little wear and tear and has plenty of upside. His lack of speed will limit him in some respects, but if paired with a speed-back he could be effective while splitting carries. He reminds me of LenDale White and could play a similar role for a team next season.
