Tyrod Taylor

Tyrod Taylor scouting report

Tyrod Taylor QB Virginia Tech
Ht: 6’1″

Wt: 215

Strengths:
Three-year starter who excelled immediately; very productive college player. Impressive athleticism; could be viewed as a receiver or running back by some teams. Decent arm strength. Smart with the football; did a great job playing within the system at Virginia Tech (24-5 TD-Int ration in 2010).
Weaknesses:
Throwing motion needs a lot of work. Played in a system designed perfectly for his skill set; was not asked to make many deep throws. Accuracy on intermediate and deep routes is shaky.
Comments:
Taylor is an elite athlete, which means someone will give him a shot at the next level. However, he has a lot of work ahead of him if he wants to plays quarterback in the NFL. If a team views him as a quarterback, he will probably need two to three years of development before he’s ready to see any game action. His best chance to play at the next level will probably be at another position.
