Stefen Wisniewski

Stefen Wisniewski scouting report

Stefen Wisniewski C Penn State
Ht: 6’3″

Wt: 306

Strengths:
Versatile player with experience at both guard and center. Three-year starter who also saw significant playing as a freshman – a rarity for offensive linemen under Joe Paterno. Very well balanced lineman. Fundamentally sound and excels at both pass protection and run blocker. A smart kid on and off the field. Rarely caught out of position. A leader on the field.
Weaknesses:
Solid across the board but doesn’t stand out in any one area. Not a dominant blocker; won’t finish off many blocks and occasionally gets beat by second efforts. Athleticism is marginal; may struggle with more athletic interior defensive linemen in the pros. Doesn’t have the strength to handle nose tackles in one-on-one matchups.
Comments:
Wisniewski’s uncle, Steve Wisniewski, was a long-time guard for the Raiders and a potential future Hall of Famer. He is as NFL-ready as they come and should step right into a starting role. The only downside is that he doesn’t really jump out in any one area. He does everything well, but doesn’t have that something extra to make him an elite prospect. He should be an effective starter for years to come, but may never be a Pro Bowl caliber player.
