Rob Housler

Rob Housler scouting report

Rob Housler TE Florida Atlantic
Ht: 6’5″

Wt: 250

Prototypical size for a tight end. Impressive athleticism for his size. Surprising speed and overall quickness. A solid route runner who his improved dramatically in this area. Coming off a breakout senior year.
Limited experience; only one year a starter. Hasn’t faced a lot of top competition. Strength is marginal; struggles as a blocker at times. Struggles to fight through traffic at the line of scrimmage; can simply get out-physicaled by bigger linebackers and gets knocked off his route too easily.
Housler struggled to see playing time early in his career at FAU which prompted him to redshirt in 2009 in hopes of earning a bigger role in the offense as a senior. The plan worked and he had a breakout year, developing into one of the more dangerous pass-catching tight ends in the country. He certainly looks the part; his size and athleticism make an ideal target in the passing game. However, he is still raw and has a long way to go before he’s ready to be an every-down player at the next level.
