Ricky Elmore

Ricky Elmore scouting report

Ricky Elmore DE Arizona
Ht: 6’5″

Wt: 255

Three-year starter. Good quickness off the snap. Flashes the ability to be a dominant edge rusher; 21.5 sacks over past two seasons. Better athlete than his workout numbers indicate.
Sort of a linebacker/end ‘tweener. Doesn’t have the size that most teams like in their defensive ends, but lacks the athleticism to play linebacker. Struggles to hold his ground at the point of attack against the run. May be limited to being a situational pass rusher at the next level.
Elmore was a more productive college player than his teammate Brooks Reed, who could be a 1st-round pick. However, Elmore lacks Reed’s athleticism which is what NFL teams are most concerned with. His postseason workout numbers are concerning, but he looks much more athletic on film that his workout numbers indicate. He won’t be a great fit for every scheme but he could develop into a productive player in a 4-3 scheme, even if he’s never a three-down lineman.
