Chris Rucker

Chris Rucker scouting report

Chris Rucker CB Michigan State
Ht: 6’1″

Wt: 195

Strengths:
Great overall size. A physical cornerback. Plenty of experience against top competition; a three year starter. A willing run defender. Very reliable tackler for a cornerback. Decent speed.
Weaknesses:
Serious character concerns. Arrested and later suspended from team for his role in a fight in 2009. Also arrested on DUI charges. Lacks discipline on the field; takes too many chances and often gets caught out of position. Fundamentals are shaky; particularly for someone with 3+ years of experience as a starter.
Comments:
Rucker is a top-100 talent, but will fall to the end of the draft due to his character concerns. He generally was not well respected at Michigan State and NFL teams won’t be rushing to bring him into their locker room. That said, he clearly has NFL talent. Someone will roll the dice on him eventually, it’s just a matter of how far he falls first.
