DeMarcus Van Dyke scouting report

DeMarcus Van Dyke CB Miami FL
Ht: 6’1″

Wt: 176

Strengths:
Elite speed; can turn and run with any receiver. Also ran track at Miami. Good height for the position. Experience on the outside and at the nickel spot.
Weaknesses:
Limited production in college; was never a full-time starter. Vastly undersized; has a slim build that will severely limit his tackling ability in the NFL. Doesn’t put in much effort in run support; not a wrap-up tackler.
Comments:
Van Dyke’s speed caught everyone’s attention at the combine and some view him as a potential day two pick. However, I have concerns about his frame and his overall lack of physical play. His speed is certainly an intriguing asset, but he needs to hit the weights hard before he’s ready to be a significant contributor at the next level.
