Courtney Smith scouting report

Courntey Smith WR South Alabama
Ht: 6’4″

Wt: 220

Elite size and overall build. Decent route running ability in shorter routes. Knows how to use his body to shield defenders.
Limited experience against top competition. Lacks the speed to be a deep threat. Hands are inconsistent. Didn’t dominate lower level competition like someone with his size should. Some character concerns; transferred from UAB to Southeast Louisiana to South Alabama due to various off-field and academic issues.
You can’t teach size, which is why Smith will get a serious look from the NFL. However, his inability to remain with one program and his lack of experience against top competition will limit the willingness of teams to take a chance. While he lacks elite speed, he definitely has the potential to develop into a quality possession receiver.
