Da’Norris Searcy scouting report

Da’Norris Searcy S North Carolina
Ht: 5’11″

Wt: 223

Elite size and strength. A devastating hitter. Shows surprising quickness for his size; has developed into a decent coverage safety. Has some experience at linebacker; could be viewed as a weak-side linebacker by some 4-3 teams. Some experience as a pass rusher.
Overaggressive. Loves to go for the big hit and will miss some tackles as a result. Coverage skills have improved, but he’ll struggle with more athletic tight ends and running backs at the next level. Suspended for first three games of 2010 season for his role in UNC’s academic scandal.
Searcy was a late bloomer at UNC, who didn’t really become an impact player until his senior year. His size is intriguing and some teams who value run support ability from their strong safety will be very interested in services. He’s a candidate to come off the board much higher than expected because his skill set is rare and some team may be looking for his specific abilities.
