Rashad Carmichael scouting report

Rashad Carmichael CB Virginia Tech
Ht: 5’10″

Wt: 190

Two-year starter at cornerback who also saw significant playing time as a freshman and sophomore. Very productive player in a solid defense at Virginia Tech. Solid ball skills; does a nice job getting his hands on the ball. 10 career interceptions. Experience on special teams coverage.
Slightly undersized. Does not have great overall bulk. Tackling technique and effort is poor; will be a liability against the run. Doesn’t have elite speed or athleticism.
Carmichael was a solid collegiate cornerback but his upside is limited by very average athleticism and speed. He is probably best suited to play nickel cornerback at the next level. While he doesn’t have a lot of upside, he’s a fairly safe pick. You can be confident that you’re getting a player who knows how to make an impact and will provide some nice depth in the secondary.
