Marcus Gilbert scouting report

Marcus Gilbert OT Florida
Ht: 6’6″

Wt: 330

Strengths:
Prototypical height. Impressive size and strength; carries his weight well. Decent athleticism for his size. A dominant run blocker. A mauler who consistently finishes off blocks. Experience at guard and tackle. A three-year starter.
Weaknesses:
Lacks elite quickness. Footwork is adequate, but not quick. Will struggle with speed rushers at the next level. Will be limited to playing right tackle and some teams may view him strictly as a guard. Plays too upright at times and tends to get back on his heels in pass protection.
Comments:
Gilbert has the skills necessary to be a starting right tackle at the next level. He is NFL ready as a run blocker and has potential to develop into an adequate pass protector. His upside is limited because he lacks elite athleticism, but he should be serviceable.
