Sione Fua scouting report

Sione Fua DT Stanford
Ht: 6’2″

Wt: 308

Decent size. Has the build and strength to play nose tackle at the next level; experienced at nose tackle and the three-technique. Does a good job staying low and using leverage to power his way into the backfield. A physical player with an impressive motor. Quick off the snap; delivers a quick punch to offensive linemen. Does a really nice job fighting with his hands.
Not much of an athlete, won’t get to the quarterback with any consistency. Unable to chase down the ball carrier. Doesn’t have the size to get his hands up and disrupt passing plays. Probably limited to nose tackle in the NFL.
Name pronounced see-own-ay foo-ah… Fua could develop into a starter in the NFL, but he won’t be an attractive option for everyone. His lack of athleticism probably means he isn’t a great fit for most teams in the 4-3. At first glace he doesn’t look like he has nose tackle size, but he clearly demonstrates the strength necessary to play that role at the next level. He doesn’t do any one thing great, but he’s very consistent. I wouldn’t reach for him to fill a need, but if he falls to the late 3rd or 4th round he could be a steal.
