Quinton Carter scouting report

Quinton Carter S Oklahoma
Ht: 6’1″

Wt: 208

Strengths:
Above average size. Has the athleticism and size to play either free or strong safety. Excels against the run. Shows good reactions and closing speed when attacking against the run. A hard hitter. Some experience in man coverage. A team leader.
Weaknesses:
Missed 2007 season with pulled hamstring. Missed time in 2008 with knee injury. Overaggressive; loves to go for the big hit and will occasionally miss tackles as a result. Instincts in coverage aren’t great; needs to improve his ability to read the quarterback when dropping back in zone coverage.
Comments:
Carter emerged as a leader for Oklahoma in his junior year and took his game to the next level as a senior in 2010. He’s a versatile player who does everything well, however, he does need to learn to be more disciplined. He has all the physical tools necessary to excel at the next level and with some good coaching he could develop into a starter.
