Jerrell Powe scouting report

Jerrell Powe DT Ole Miss
Ht: 6’2″

Wt: 335

Strengths:
Prototypical size for a nose tackle. A space eater who can take on multiple blockers and hold his ground. Strong against the run.
Weaknesses:
Limited athleticism. Doesn’t provide much of a pass rush. Probably limited to playing nose tackle at the next level. Won’t be a great fit for every defensive scheme. Struggled with academics throughout his career; ruled academically ineligible on multiple occasions. Suffers from dyslexia which contributed to his struggles in school. Already 24 years old.
Comments:
Powe’s ability to play nose tackle will make him an intriguing prospect for teams looking to fill that hole in the draft, however, his lack of versatility limits his value. In the right system he could flourish, but some teams may not have a place for him. Teams will want to learn more about his academic struggles, specifically about how it may impact his ability to learn an NFL playbook.
