Ben Ijalana scouting report

Ben Ijalana OG Villanova
Ht: 6’4″

Wt: 320

Strengths:
Four-year starter at left tackle who dominated the FCS ranks. Started all 53 career games without missing any time due to injuries. Prototypical size and strength for an interior lineman. Above average athleticism for a guard.
Weaknesses:
Hasn’t faced elite competition. Will need to learn a new position at the next level. Fundamentals are shaky; dominated FCS opponents with size and strength and developed bad habits. Plays too high; will consistently get beat by more athletic defensive linemen at the next level.
Comments:
Ijalana has prototypical size and should be a starter down the road but is a bit of a project as of right now. His success will depend on how quickly he picks up the techniques necessary to compete in the NFL. If he’s a fast learner he could start right away and develop into an elite lineman. Given the work he needs, he would be a risky 1st-round pick but could end up being a steal in the 2nd or 3rd round.
